Often, our feelings will lie to us. We cannot trust them to be good guides. The Lord is completely trustworthy, and His words in the Bible are excellent guides for our lives.
If your feelings say, you are not loved, that is a lie. God loves you. He loved you before you were born, and he loved you enough to give His own son to die for you.
If your feelings say, you are worthless, that is a lie. God created mankind in His own image with His own hands. He placed value in you as He breathed the breath of life into the first human. He saw you and knew all about you while you were still in your mother’s womb. Yes, we are all miserable sinners. But God in His mercy has offered to redeem you and me, and to put value back into our lives through His Son Jesus.
If your feelings say, nothing will get better, and there is no hope, those are lies. God is the God of all Hope. He holds all of creation in His hands, and will soon come back and make everything right. He gave us the greatest Hope of all, His Son Jesus.
Proverbs 3:5 & 6
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.
