Welcome!

Thank you for visiting this blog. I pray you will find it an encouragement to your faith in our Lord Jesus Christ; and I hope you will return often.

This is a place where you are valued for the beauty that Jesus puts into your heart. It doesn’t matter what you look like on the outside, how poor you are, or how physically or mentally limited you are.  What matters is the condition of your heart.

What does God see when He looks at you and me? Two things I do know: God is not like human beings, and He does not value what we find so pleasing or desirable. His ways are very different from ours, and His manner of thinking is extremely dissimilar to ours. God looks at individual people much differently than we do, and He values more essential characteristics than those humanity usually celebrates.

Our society values youth, health, outer beauty, wealth, physical strength, pleasure, power, intelligence, wit, and even rebellion and stubbornness.  And while the masses appreciate and even idolize those who have these characteristics in abundance, they often dislike and ignore those who have none or few of these characteristics.

Yet, God values faith, love, humility, compassion, justice, forgiveness, trust, mercy, self-control, and more traits such as these. The Apostle Peter wrote of an inner beauty that God finds precious.

Please join me in a Biblical search for the deep beauty in which God delights. Let’s discover what God values in human beings, and what gives Him joy. Hopefully, we can find and discuss many profound truths that will change the way we look at ourselves and others. Thank you for joining in …

May our Lord use this blog to touch and comfort hearts about that which is really important. Amen.

Isaiah 55:8,9

“’For My thoughts are not your thoughts,

Nor are your ways My ways,’ declares the LORD.

‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

So are My ways higher than your ways

And My thoughts than your thoughts.'”

1 Samuel 16:6-8

“For God sees not as man sees,

for man looks at the outward appearance,

but the LORD looks at the heart.”

1 Peter 3:3,4

Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty

of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes.

You should clothe yourselves instead

with the beauty that comes from within,

the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit,

which is so precious to God.”

    • Hi Robert,

      Thank you for responding.

2 Chronicles 16:9 “For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.” NASB

Luke 6:45 “The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.” NASB

These are excellent scriptures! Thank you.
